Simple, scalable, just makes sense.

think 5 or 10 is fine, 15 seems a bit much
rohan3 months ago
10 is prob the sweet spot
mobikOOOOP3 months ago
It's like with 25 foods they're kinda too much too
mobikOOOOP3 months ago
The thing is that every scalable goal has 3 variants
ZZZGen3 months ago
just overworld's or including nether/end?
mobikOOOOP3 months ago
Overworld
sam3 months ago
Should include nether and end imo, i don’t think 15 is that bad

You may be right
mobikOOOOP3 months ago
I just feel like it should be an alternative for the nether line
sam3 months ago
just checked, the average draftout seed has 14 biomes within 32 RD of spawn, not counting cave biomes
marvel3 months ago
isn't the saplings goal sorta the same thing?
Threadfinn3 months ago
I don't think it should count nether biomes, there's already Hot Tourist Destinations as a goal. It should just be like the Adventuring Time advancement, similar to how the kill X unique hostiles requires you to kill a subset of what you need for Monsters Hunted.

No, there is ocean, warm ocean, desert, etc. It's more stable and flexible
Threadfinn3 months ago
Also I do think 15 is fine, there's 55 overworld biomes. There's already a goal to kill 15 unique hostiles, out of only 40 that count for it.

i was gonna suggest this actually and i think all 3 can be good options
sugaarush3 months ago
5 biomes can be an early game goal where u can chose to explore while ur opponent is doing other early things
sugaarush3 months ago
and 10/15 are just fun in general
sugaarush3 months ago
15 would be a later game one obv but it’s not too bad esp if u blind with obby from bastion
sam3 months ago
Worth noting that 5 is usually very fast and will be one of the earliest goals on most boards/seeds

e.g. Forest, plains, river, beach, ocean
sam3 months ago
Can be like ~30 blocks of movement
Threadfinn3 months ago
I think that's part of why this works so well as a goal, it's like foods. 5 foods is always a super early goal, 25 foods is a late game goal with a lot of overlap.

Ya I think it’d be fun
sam3 months ago
I think the reason they haven’t done it is it’s cooler to have “things to get” in each biome e.g. wood type or type of hostile or certain flowers
sam3 months ago
But I think it’s a cool standalone goal and rewards knowledge/movement/strategy etc
sam3 months ago
And I think itd be cool to give the player a reason to interact with like bamboo jungle or whatever
sam3 months ago
Just checked, the average distance from spawn to the 5th farthest biome is 110 blocks
