gameplay
I was playing a game of draftout comp and I disconnected, after reconnecting I was fully reset including ongoing tasks, advancements, my location and inventory, in the replay mode it looks like as Ive never even played till 30th minute

The inventory reset isn't a bug, that's intentional

But the replay is a new issue that is a bug

I just disconnected and reconnected though

I can't do anything about my wifi going out
๐โโ๏ธOP2 months ago
why would it be intentional

before it didnt work like this as well

It just depends on whether you fully disconnected versus just disconnected a little bit

I know that doesn't really make sense

why donโt they just make it not reset anything at all i dont get it
Elag4222 months ago
is there some advantage someone could get if they disconnect and rejoin with everything they had before they disconnected

yes, it lets you dupe items if you crash

bc player inventory data is saved separately from world entity data

could find a way to force save the world+inventory+etc right before disconnecting right?
Elag4222 months ago
or like when it detects you disconnected
Threadfinn2 months ago
You could but based on it not saving the replay at all I think that would require a major rewrite. It seems like draftout doesn't currently store any information about the game except completed goals until the game is over, then uploads the world from both players for the replay.

But idk really that's just speculation

this is happening to me a lot but its not cause of my wifi, the game just randomly crashes and when i relaunch everything is reset
noura ๐2 months ago(edited)
that is intended behaviour for crashes, this thread is for disconnect issues which are not intended

do you have the suggested java arguments that can help fix crashes?
