All 6 tools and weapons share the same durability per material, most pertinently Golden (32 durability) and Wooden (59 durability). Flint and steel and fishing rods both have 64 durability. Mechanics usually determine this goal.

if you have a fishing rod and no close mobs or wood for a boat, you can do it with an item (3 dura per use vs 5)

items are kinda small and finnicky because you can pick them up so you might need to fill your inventory (leaf litter ig), and im honestly not fully sure boats even count as mobs in this context

yeah that’s why i was making a setup where you throw an item in the corner of 2 blocks so you can spam yank without having to readjust

i noticed sometimes rod doesn't grab boat and you lose 0 or 2 dura instead of 5 depending on how fast you right click and where you aim

digging down 1 block so the boat is eye level seems to make it consistent at least

honestly when i was coming up with the goal i didnt realise just how fast you could spam it so i was imagining people would hook the ground as they ran around to overlap it

also it doesn't work with employed villagers or mountable mobs kinda

you have to aim so that your crosshair is not over the mob but the bobber still clings to them

yes as long as you're close enough for the bobber to latch on to the entity in the time between right clicks
