With the new elo system, You can get such a good rank post-placement games and stop playing to the point where we have people in the top50/100 with like 4-5 wins that just stopped playing.

I feel like this doesn't make much sense since there is still no decay so these people are just sitting here and still taking a spot

It locks you in way too fast for how much better you can get at this game in a relatively short amount of time
