When changing difficulty before it used to auto change now you need to apply it and thats like an extra button to press that most players arent used to and hopefully an easy fix

if it's vanilla i think we just need to get used to it, new players shouldn't have to learn special menuing specifically for draftout

it is really annoying though

fr I lost a goal to this because I didn't press it and had to go back in the menu and lost the goal by a second

probably should just be kept in though since it's vanilla

yeah agree if we change the apply button because we don’t like it, what’s stopping us saying we want to bring back the old toggle so we don’t have to go into world options at all
Hero
HeroOP2 weeks ago
slightly different u can change everything in the setting and no need to confirm changes except for that
Hero
HeroOP2 weeks ago
we lit have a mod for that normal mc dont have that setting
Hero
HeroOP2 weeks ago
anything u do needs to be confirmed

it is true that draftout now has a builtin way to disable the preset slider at least
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
the slider is still there, but clicking on it doesn't do anything
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
but that's like for misclick prevention
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
it is very similar though

ya so having that 1 thing for applyng changes wont be the craziest thing to edit
beniibobs
beniibobs2 weeks ago
mm yea option to disable a video setting seems a bit different
beniibobs
beniibobs2 weeks ago
toggling difficulty is something everyone has to do

ig if this were implemented, i could see it as an opt-in draftout setting to make it so you don't have to apply world settings changes
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago(edited)
so new players don't have to learn draftout-specific ui changes unless they choose to enable them
beniibobs
beniibobs2 weeks ago
but it would be objectively bad if you’re new and don’t know about the option which is still eh
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
yeah clicking second button is timeloss if you don't have it enabled

i think thats the least of your worries if you're new, but it isn't a major timeloss
Hero

thats why adding a setting button to removing/keeping it would be the best here imo

beniibobs2 weeks ago(edited)
How does that have anything to do with the point

idk people want f3 + f, they want improved f3 locations, i feel like it’s easy to get carried away with it idk

The disable preset slider i feel like is fairly different. Its a slider that for 99% of people will be on "Custom" and touching it at all irreversibly edits everything else in the settings menu, in a way that most people dont want. Its been added without removing the button, so not changing the layout in any way, just giving people an option to completely turn it off. And arguably has a performance implication, as for some people it could accidentally set things to a higher quality than their pc can handle and cause stutters mid game until they realise what they forgot to toggle back.
This feels more like the return f3 + f discussions, where yes its slightly annoying that you have to do extra inputs compared to what you are used to, but thats it.

it is also a bit different than f3+f because it's not just annoying that you have to do extra inputs
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
if you don't do the extra input, your changes are silently discarded

The preset slider is worse imo since even with it disabled I have to scroll to adjust rd and my scrollwheel is broken, this is just 1 extra input and saves you from other misclicks
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago
which is really bad UX from mojang
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago(edited)
kinda like how the preset slider is bad UX in a different way

like i already know i have to hit apply changes, and yet yesterday i still found myself surprised that bees were not damaging my shield's durability
GracefulBeauty
GracefulBeauty2 weeks ago(edited)
and atp it's too late to switch to hard because if i let go of my shield to pause, they'll sting me
GracefulBeauty

and then they will die
